Kuih Tepung Gomak

INGREDIENT A

(for the dough)

  • 300gm glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to tase

INGREDIENT B

(for the filling)

  • 200gm palm sugar
  • 1/2 cup castor sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 300gm fresh grated coconut
  • 2 tsp wheat flour
  • 2 pcs pandanus leaves

INGREDIENT C

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To make the dough, mix the dry ingredients then add water little by little and knead until it becomes a dough. Set aside.
  2.  Boil palm sugar and castor sugar with the water until everything dissolves.
  3. Add grated coconut and cook until it's almost dry then add the wheat flour mixed with a bit of water.
  4. Use low heat and keep stirring until it is almost dry but still quite moist. Let it cool.
  5. Take a bit of the dough, flatten it and add a bit of the sweet coconut filling. Then, seal the dough and turn it into a ball. Put the ball into boiling water.
  6. Repeat the process until all the dough and filling are finished.
  7. Boil all the dough balls until they start floating. Remove from water and drain them.
  8. Coat them well with Serbuk Kacang Hijau Cap Bunga Rose so they don't stick to each other.
  9. Ready to serve.
